Speaker Box
Well I did this project around last summer for a show truck I built in the form of a 1995 GMC Sonoma. I didn't have the forum then so I'm posting it now. I made a custom speaker box to fit behind the bench seat in my truck. I made your standard wooden box and then I put recessed rings on the front and covered it with cloth and resin. A lot of people make the entire speaker box out of fiberglass but I didnt want to spend as much time doing that because I was simply going for shape. I then covered the box with carpet and it came out pretty good. Had the shape I wanted and I didn't have to spend a whole lot of time on it. Enjoy!
Started out with a standard wooden speaker box, then added wooden stacked rings so the subs would be flush mounted and sealed all of the seams to prevent air leaks:

Then I covered the areas where I wanted my shape with stretchy material and fiberglass resin:

Cut out the holes for the subs:

Then I added some carpet to it. It fit really good without having to adjust the seat at all. Also if anyone is wondering why I didn't reinforce it with mat it's because this was purely cosmetic and didnt require any structural reinforcement.

Re: Speaker Box
very good job on that box, you pretty much did it right for what you were going for, since it didnt need to be strong, as the wood gave you your strength. props, J
